The owner of a housing estate decided to replace the current oil-fired boilers with a woodchip system. There was a need for hot water for 12 chalets, heating for the swimming pool and backup gas-fired boilers.

HG Matthews are a traditional brick maker with strong environmental credentials. The company was looking for a new boiler to replace their 600kW wood chip boiler that was struggling to satisfy demand and suffered from reliability problems.

Dunster was asked to assess the existing oil heating system of a 19th-century property that is one of the most successful nursing homes for over 20 years. The company wanted to cut their fuel costs and improve their environmental credentials.

Goonhilly Earth Station, Cornwall, The International Space Station is known for its resources in satellite communications and space education. It also has a strong community engagement program. The earth station wanted to save energy by switching from oil to biomass heating.

Gilmour and Aitken, a small family run timber merchant established in 1852, wanted to determine the feasibility and find a more sustainable way of heating their timber drying kilns. The outcome was having a biomass boiler installed.

The estate commissioned a woodchip heating system as part of an overall strategy to increase the use of renewable energy. The old electrical system was retained and not used since commissioning.

The Beaulieu Motor Museum is a museum of all kinds of cars and other vehicles. In order to reduce their energy costs and adopt green heating, their existing oil heating system was replaced with biomass.

Abernethy Trust is a Christian educational charity, they contacted us here at Dunster to investigate the feasibility of installing a small district heating network for a group of holiday lodges and two staff cottages.
