At Dunster we regard the development of standards for the biomass industry as very important. The products we offer undergo strict quality control and our team of engineers are trained in line with emerging technologies, to keep pace with the development of the industry.

Standards and memberships
We maintain the following standards and memberships in order to ensure that our team is trained in all areas of regulation and know the best practices.
To enable us to do this Dunster is a member of the Wood Heat Association, a subsidiary group of the REA, which allows us to help shape government policy and push for the establishment of industry standards for installation. David Hugh-Smith, Dunster’s Managing Director, has been elected to the WHA’s Board of directors and John Witt, Dunster’s Technical Director, sits on the Standards and Quality Committee.
CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment scheme)
To be a CHAS accredited supplier we have shown that we meet CHAS’s standards for health and safety and have been assessed as being compliant by CHAS.
The NICEIC is a leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry and wider construction services. All of their members undertake a regular assessment for their scheme(s) of choice ensuring their work is completed to the highest standards.
HETAS is the official body recognised by Government to approve biomass and solid fuel heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses.
MCS (The Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
MCS is a mark of quality and demonstrates compliance to industry standards that companies strive to meet. It highlights to consumers that companies are able to consistently install or manufacture to the highest quality every time.
As part of our long term business strategy, we are actively developing our quality and environmental systems to conform to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
