Biomass Boiler Maintenance Tips

Here are some great ways to keep your boiler healthy!

  • Always obey manufacturer’s recommendations for service intervals.

  • Get your boiler serviced every year by a professional to improve energy efficiency and ensure boiler longevity.

  • Service your boiler before winter, to avoid the winter rush.

  • Always use the correct fuel for your boiler.

  • Ensure you de-ash little and often. The ash should be smooth in consistency and light grey in colour.

  • Conduct weekly checks on the oxygen level.

  • Check how clear the flue gas is. If is it looking sooty or if the chimney is changing to a blackish colour, it is time for a service.

  • Check your building connections as broken valves can affect energy efficiency.
