Always use the correct fuel for your boiler.
Ensure you de-ash little and often. The ash should be smooth in consistency and light grey in colour.
Conduct weekly checks on the oxygen level.
Check how clear the flue gas is. If is it looking sooty or if the chimney is changing to a blackish colour, it is time for a service.
Check your building connections as broken valves can affect energy efficiency.
